Christian Beliefs by Scott Thomas

Theological Clarity Workbook by Tom Welch

Need a simple but thorough training tool for others in theology?  Just found the Theological Clarity e-workbook by Tom Welch. It is a free download on the Acts 29 website.

Twenty chapters are designed to take you through key chapters of Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology.  Actually, it references the chapters to read in Grudem’s 1290 pages as well as his condensed version Bible Doctrine at 528 pages but it is really designed to be used with Grudem’s Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know at only 160 pages.

The workbook has questions for reflection, passages for meditation and verses for memorization.  It is designed to take someone through the essential doctrines a week or two at a time.  But, you do need a copy of Christian Beliefs for it to be useful–you read that in order to answer the questions.  If you put kindle for pc on your computer (another free download), you can download the Christian Beliefs ebook to your computer for $7.99.  I suggested that they need to make that book free but at this point it is not.  You could also download the massive volume of Systematic Theology by Grudem but at 25.99 it is a bit pricey.

I downloaded Christian Beliefs so I could test it–basic, no footnotes or extra supplements like the mother book but it is designed for a lay leader and I think it might work.I already own both an electronic edition and hard copy of Grudem ST and plan to work through this workbook as a refresher on my own unless I can find someone to discuss it with.

Check it out.
